
Christine Bowen
lives and practices in Kenmare, Co. Kerry, Ireland.
She previously worked in interior design in Dublin until 1987, when she then commenced a fine art course in the RTC Sligo, culminating in a B.A Hons Art degree from University of Ulster, York Street, in 1994. Christine’s work is influenced by history, archaeology and poetry, most notable being W.B Yeats, Lorca and Cohen. Flora and fauna are also signatures.
In addition to the native Irish species the work is influenced by her travels, in particular frequent visits to Kenya in East Africa. With the tropical fish, flowers and colours of that coast evident in her painting.
